Reused
Matboard
The matboard I use is given to me by MKN Cannon Framing LLC, located
in Metairie, LA. They typically have tons of leftover matboard pieces
in stock. They either keep a matboard until it is too small for another
piece to be cut from it or until they clean out old stock. Reasons
for getting ride of the old stock may include such factors as the
color or style is outdated, rarely requested, aged, stained, or because
they simply need to make room for new stock. The old stock is often
donated to schools or just thrown away.
Matboard is often made from wood pulp or cotton fiber pulp. The process
of making matboard is similar to that of the paper, but with different
additives, dyes, and finishing chemicals.
